Sweet Chops

Ingredients:

4 pork chops (1/2" to 3/4" thick)

1 Tablespoon oil

1 clove of garlic, Minced

1 Tablespoon chopped fresh ginger

Sauce:

2 teaspoons oil                                            

4 Tablespoon rice wine

4 Tablespoons Soy Sauce                        

2 Tablespoons brown sugar

1/4 teaspoons crushed red pepper      

2 teaspoons cornstarch

1 Tablespoon water

Directions:

Heat oil in skillet. Sauté chops with garlic and ginger in oil, turning once to brown both sides. To make sauce, combine oil, red wine, soy sauce, brown sugar and red pepper. Pour sauce over chops in skillet and cover tightly. Simmer over low heat until chops are tender and cooked through, 30-35 minutes. Add water as needed to keep sauce from cooking down too low. Remove chops to a serving platter. Stir in cornstarch to remaining contents of skillet dissolved in water. Cook until thickened. Pour over chops and serve.

Yields about 8 servings
